Eligibility Criteria for National Institute of Oceanography:
Technician (Diploma)/ Graduate (Degree) Apprentices: –
- Full Time Graduate degree granted by a recognized University/Institutions in relevant discipline.
- Three Years full time Diploma in Engineering/Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education Established by a State Government/University/Institutions in relevant discipline.

Age Limit For NIO Recruitment:
- Technician/ Diploma: Minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years for Technician/Diploma Apprentices as on date of interview.
- Graduate/Degree: Minimum 21 years and maximum 26 years for Graduate/Degree Apprentices as on date of interview.
Age Relaxation:
- (Relaxation by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, for the posts reserved for them). Candidates belonging to PWD Categories shall be given age relaxation up to 10 years (up to 15 years for SC/ST and up to 13 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer).
Mode of Selection:
- The selection of candidate/s for appointment to the post shall be based on their performance in the walk-in interview.
